Philosophy
The studio keeps the interface and the work calm so the mark of the hand can carry the emphasis.
Process
The rhythm of batik is repetition with restraint. Each layer changes the cloth without hiding it.
Intent
Pieces are designed as objects with long lives. They hold a story without needing to shout.
The batik process
The first stage is composition. Motifs, lines, and spacing are set before wax ever touches cloth.
Wax protects the light areas while dye settles into the cloth. The image becomes deeper with each layer.
The final wash opens the image. Edges are cleaned, the surface is set, and the piece is ready to keep.
